George Soros is Founder of the Quantum Group of Funds and Chairman of Soros Fund Management. A global financier and philanthropist, he is also the founder and chairman of a network of foundations that promote, among other things, the creation of open, democratic societies based upon the rule of law, market economies, transparent and accountable governance, freedom of the press, and respect for human rights. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors of the Council on Foreign Relations.
