Naoyuki Shinohara is Deputy Managing Director
of the International Monetary Fund. Prior to this, he served as Vice Minister
of Finance for International Affairs, Japan, and participated in the IMFC,
G7/G8, G20, ASEAN + 3, and other meetings as the Finance Minister’s Deputy.
Mr. Shinohara has occupied various senior positions at the Ministry of
Finance of Japan, including Director-General of the International Bureau.
He has also been an Associate at the Center for International Affairs at
Harvard University, and a Visiting Professor at Saitama National University.
Mr. Shinohara also served as Japan’s Executive Director at the Asian Development
Bank during 1998–2001.
