Akihiko Tanaka

President, JICA, Japan


Akihiko Tanaka is President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Before joining JICA in April 2012, Mr. Tanaka held multiple positions at the University of Tokyo, including Professor of International Politics, Director of the Institute of Oriental Culture, Director of the International Relations Division, and Vice President (2009–2012). He is also a Japanese member of the East Asia Vision Group and the Council on Security and Defense Capabilities His most recent book is “The Post-Crisis World” (Tokyo, 2009).
