Agustín Carstens

Governor, Bank of Mexico

Agustín Carstens is Governor, Bank of Mexico. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), is a member of the Steering Committee of the G-20 Financial Stability Board (FSB), and Co-chair of the FSB Regional Consultative Group for the Americas. Before taking his current position, Mr. Carstens was Mexico’s Secretary of Finance and, before that, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. Mr. Carstens has also served as an Executive Director at the IMF and was organizer of the United Nations Conference on Financing for Development in Monterrey and of meetings of the Group of 20, and has served as Alternate Governor for Mexico at the InterAmerican Development Bank and the World Bank.
